7/24/19 – Lost Hiker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, and WCSAR responded to the Michael Thompson Trailhead to search for a disoriented hiker. The subject’s ping placed him approximately 300′ north of the trailhead, but in the dark, he was confused about his location. With RAVEN using a spotlight and ground searchers, he was quickly located and guided back to staging.

7/22/19 – Subject in Truckee River

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR assisted Sparks PD in attempting to locate a 15yo subject that jumped into the river at Glendale and Galletti Way. Teams searched from that point all the way down to an area east of Cottonwood Park. Nothing was located.

7/21/19 – Mt. Rose Motorcycle Accident

SAR Staff and the Hasty team responded to a location just below the Mt. Rose summit on the east side to assist Fire personnel with a low-angle rope rescue for a motorcyclist that went over the edge of the road.

7/19/19 – Sparks Marina

The SVU was requested by Sparks PD and Sparks Public Works to tow an abandoned boat from its location on the marina to a loading area so that it could be removed from the lake.

7/17/19 – Washoe Lake Drowning

SAR Staff and the Hasty team responded to Washoe Lake on the report of a boat sinking with an occupant in distress. TMFPD was also on scene. The subject was located and brought to the surface approximately two hours after the initial report.
