8/29/2018 – Overdue Subjects

SAR Staff, Air Squadron, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to an area south of Vya/east of Eagleville, CA to search for two overdue campers. The reporting party, stated that they were supposed to be home on Monday, but waited until Wednesday to report them overdue. RAVEN attempted to fly into the area, but were turned back by winds. The Air Squadron flew the area, but did not spot the subjects. Ground teams were deployed from Gerlach to possible areas by either SR34 or SR447. Two ground teams that had staged east of Eagleville located the subjects at a campsite known as “Home Camp”. They were fine and were surprised anyone was looking for them. There had evidently been some miscommunication as to when they were supposed to be home.

8/27/2018 – Missing Juveniles

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to an area in Sun Valley to search for two missing juveniles. As SAR assets were arriving at staging, the subjects were located by patrol deputies.

8/20/2018 – Lost Subject

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to a staging location on Larkin Circle to search for a subject that was lost somewhere between Sparks and Tracy, in the mountains to the north. RAVEN located the subject, landed, then transported the subject to the staging location on Larkin Circle.

8/17/2018 – Bone Recovery

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and SVU assisted Carson City Detectives in locating bones that were found by a diver in the water on the east shore of Lake Tahoe. Items were recovered, but whether they were human or animal has not been determined.

8/17/2018 – Berry Fire Evacuations

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to Bellvue Road to conduct fire evacuation notices for an area west of Old Highway 395. As the first teams were leaving staging, fire crews were able to get a handle on the progression of the fire. Teams were brought back to staging and released.
