8/13/2018 – Pyramid Lake Boat out of Fuel

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU responded to Pelican Dock to locate a boat that had run out of fuel in the area of the Needles. The reporting party stated that there were seven subjects on board, all wearing life vests, and no one in distress. M10 located the subjects in the area of the Needles and towed them back to Pelican Dock.

8/12/2018 – Moon Rocks EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Moon Rocks to assist TMFPD in locating a juvenile subject that had been injured while dirt-biking. En route, it was learned that the subject had been transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle. SAR response was cancelled.

8/11/2018 – Lost Mountain Biker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the entrance to Hobart Lake in the Lakeview area to locate a mountain biker who was lost and out of water. With a cell phone ping, teams traveled to the subject’s location, supplied water and transported the subject back to staging. He was given a ride to Tunnel Creek Cafe by SAR Staff.

8/5/2018 – Mutual Aid Search for Drowning Victim

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and Washoe County Search & Recovery responded to a staging area at Edgewood Golf Course in South Lake Tahoe to assist Douglas County, El Dorado County, and South Lake Tahoe Police in locating and recovering a drowning subject from the previous day. Through the use of swimmers, divers, and scent dogs, the subject was located approximately 1/2 mile from shore. He was recovered, brought to shore, and handed over to El Dorado officials.

8/4/2018 – Possible Missing Swimmer at Incline Beach

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and WCSAR responded to Incline Beach to assist local agencies in locating a possible missing swimmer. Only one reporting party was involved, stating the saw one female and two males enter the water. Three males exited the water, and the reporting party was not sure if they were the same group he saw enter the water. No one was reported missing, and there weren’t any empty beach chairs. Divers and swimmers were deployed in the area, but nothing was located.
