7/28/22 – Code 50 Mutual Aide

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC were requested to assist Storey County with the recovery of a deceased subject from a side x side rollover in the hills west of Fernley. Teams used a stokes and wheel to move the subject from the accident site to a side x side positioned on a road in a canyon below the scene.

7/17/22 – Tahoe Rim Trail EMS

SAR Staff and Hasty Team BC responded to the Tahoe Meadows area to access a subject that was on a multi-day backpacking trip. The patient had become extremely nauseous, couldn’t walk, and complained of being in quite a bit of pain. BC teams, including a Hasty/REMSA member, accessed the location at Mud Lake, packaged the subject in a stokes basket, and wheeled him down to waiting paramedics at the Mt. Rose Highway.

7/9/22 – Red House EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC responded to the Lakeview entrance to Hobart Reservoir to assist TMFR, NDF, and State Parks to locate and transport an injured mountain biker. The subject had sustained a lower leg injury and was in considerable pain. They were transported to a landing zone where a NDF helicopter was able to land. The subject was flown to the volunteer fire station on Bellvue Rd. and transferred to a REMSA ambulance.

7/4/22 – Drowning Recovery Mutual Aide

SAR Staff, Hasty Team swimmers and divers, and WCSAR shore support responded to a small reservoir in Lyon County to locate and recover a fisherman that had gone missing earlier in the afternoon. The subject was located by Hasty swimmers, brought to the surface by a Hasty diver, and turned over to the local authorities.

7/3/22 – Mt. Rose Trail EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC responded to the Mt. Rose Summit parking lot to locate a subject near Galena Creek Falls that was experiencing a medical episode. SAR teams located the subject and his friends as they were walking out. After the initial incident, some hydration enabled the subject to start feeling better so that they could hike toward the trailhead. He was checked by medics and released.
