5/28/2018 – Pyramid Lake Stalled Boat

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU were requested to respond to Pyramid Lake for a stalled boat off of Pelican Point. As teams were responding, a good Samaritan was able to tow the disabled boat to Pelican Docks. SAR response was cancelled.

5/28/2018 – Injured Paraglider Pilot

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and WCSAR assisted TMFPD in rescuing an injured hang glider pilot that crashed off of the Slide Mountain take-off area. A high-angle rope system was used to bring the subject up to the road.

5/24/2018 – Stranded Off-Roaders

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the N. Virginia St. entrance to Peavine to search for two subjects that were stranded on the west side of Peavine. Cell phone coordinates placed them in an area that roads seemed not to exist. One team was able to get within .2 miles of the vehicle. With a bit of hiking from both the subjects and the searchers, they were able to meet up and were escorted down to the SAR vehicles. They were then transported back to staging where family met them for the transport home.

5/24/2018 – Lost Hiker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU staged on Leadership Parkway to locate a lost hiker in the Rancho San Rafael Park area. A search team, provided with a cell phone ping quickly located the subject. She was transported back to staging, then to her vehicle at the park.
