4/30/21 – Missing Child

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR assisted WCSO Patrol in locating a missing 6-year old boy in the Lemmon Valley area. As teams were arriving at staging, WCSO patrol units located the child in the neighborhood.

4/26/21 – Halo Trail EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, and the SVU responded to the west Keystone Trailhead to locate a trail runner who was having serious vertigo and nausea problems. TMFR was also on scene, as was REMSA. The subject was located, packaged, and transported down to staging and handed over to REMSA.

4/18/21 – Dog Valley Missing Subject

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to a staging location at the Verdi Elementary School to search for a subject whose vehicle was located by Sierra County SO in the Dog Valley area. The subject had been missing since the afternoon of the previous day. A tracker and dog teams were transported by the SVU into the area. The SVU vehicles then began searching road assignments. A forestry crew in the area came across the missing subject and alerted the IMT. Teams converged on the area, including medics and Sierra County SO. After a medical evaluation, it was decided to walk the subject out to waiting vehicles to be transported back to staging for transfer over to his father.

4/17/21 – Jones Creek Trail EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team BC, RAVEN, and WCSAR BC responded to the Jones Creek Trailhead on the report of a hiker who was unconscious in the area of the switchbacks. As medics got on scene, it was determined that the juvenile subject was not having the issues reported and was able to hike down to staging with the SAR teams.

4/9/21 – Moonrocks EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU BC, and WCSAR BC responded to an area just west of the Moonrocks for a dirt biker that was reported to have a leg injury. Care Flight was en route, as was TMFR. Once the subject was located, Care Flight determined that they would not be able to land close to the site. Ground teams were transported in by side x sides. The subject was packaged by medics while Care Flight repositioned themselves closer to the crash scene. The patient was carried to the helicopter and flown to a local hospital. All other personnel returned safely to staging.
