9/29/20 – Hunter Creek Falls EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team BC, RAVEN, and WCSAR BC responded to the Michael Thompson Trailhead to locate a subject that was reported to be experiencing a medical episode at the Hunter Creek Falls. Ground teams began hiking in, but RAVEN was able to locate the subject and perform a hoist. The subject was flown to a landing zone near staging and transferred to REMSA.

9/28/20 – Rock Lake Lost Mountain Biker

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, and WCSAR BC responded to the Davis Creek Park area to locate a lost mountain biker in the Rock Lake area. Using cell phone ping coordinates and GPS coordinates from the subject, foot teams located the subject and guided him safely back to staging.

9/27/20 – Mid-Tahoe Drowning

SAR Staff and the Hasty Team, along with a combined effort with Bruce’s Legacy, Douglas County SO, and South Lake Tahoe PD, were able to successfully recover the drowning victim from mid-August. The subject was located at 1551′.

9/27/20 – Hobart Lake Fishermen

SAR Staff and the SVU responded to the Hobart Road staging location to access two fishermen who had become disoriented and exhausted. NDOW had been previously contacted directly by the subjects, so they were en route as well. As SAR assets were about to arrive at the subject’s location, NDOW located them and began transport down to staging. The SVU team in the field met the group and followed them down to staging so that they could be checked by medical personnel.

9/26/20 – Stranded Hikers

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, and WCSAR BC responded to the Jones Creek Trail parking area to locate and safely guide two hikers who had become stranded due to heavy ground foliage near Chocolate Peak. The two hikers had gone off trail earlier in the day and due to darkness approaching, called 911. Teams accessed the subjects and safely guided them back to staging.
