7/29/2018 – Perry Fire Evacuations

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the equestrian center at Ironwood/Whiskey Springs Road to perform fire evacuation notices for the eastern and southern end of the Palomino Valley, due to the Perry Fire.

7/28/2018 – Perry Fire Evacuations

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the area of Ironwood Road and Whiskey Springs Road to conduct fire evacuations for the Perry Fire which started the previous afternoon. Approximately 80 homes were contacted.

7/27/2018 – Tunnel Creek EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Tunnel Creek Trail for a report of an female bike rider with a head injury. NLTFPD accessed the patient before SAR assets arrived on scene and transported her down to staging in a UTV. SAR response was cancelled once they returned.

7/22-23/2018 – Missing Dementia Subject

SAR Staff, Air Squadron, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR searched for a missing dementia subject on three days. The Air Squadron used three planes, each flying two separate sorties, in an attempt to locate a missing subject and vehicle. Nothing was located. On the evening of the following day, a couple that were off-roading in the mountains east of Spanish Springs came across the disable vehicle, but the subject was not there. Ground teams searched the surrounding area and canyons into the next morning, but without success. Teams, including RAVEN, started early in the morning, continuing the search on the ground, but this time, with daylight. RAVEN spotted the subject approximately 1/2 mile from the vehicle, in the area where a ground team was searching. The subject was located, deceased.
