4/24/24 – Panther Valley Missing Dementia Subject

SAR Staff, Hasty, SVU, and WCSAR staged in the Panther Valley area to search for a subject that had been missing for over 24 hours. Approximately one hour into the search, a ground team located the subject in bushes off N. Virginia. REMSA was called to the scene and the subject was transported to the hospital.

4/23/24 – Empire Farms ELT

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC staged in the Empire Farms area to locate a possible plane crash. An ELT had fired off a number of times in the mountains to the west of staging. To decrease the distance of the hike, SVU transported BC teams to a drop-off location. Upon arrival in the area of the ELT coordinates, nothing was located. Teams glassed the area and hiked in various directions, but the results were negative.

4/20/24 – Pinehaven EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC were requested by RFD and TMFR to assist in locating a hiker in the Moss Lake area that was reported to have a lower body injury. As teams were en route, Fire personnel were able to locate the subject. SAR response was cancelled.

4/20/24 – Whites Creek Lost Hikers

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC responded to two different staging locations to access a pair of lost hikers and their dog on the Jones Creek/Whites Creek Loop Trail. They had become mired down in the deep snow on the north side of the ridge, were not dressed for the hiking conditions, and were wet and exhausted. Backcountry teams located the subjects and escorted them down to waiting SVU tracked vehicles for transport down to staging.

4/10/24 – Elderly Walk-Away from Group Home

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, K-9, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Golden Valley area to search for an elderly subject that had walked away from a group home. During the search, the subject was located in front of the Silver State Kennels on Lemmon Drive.
