10/24/2018 – Pyramid Lake Missing Boaters

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR assisted PLPD in locating a missing boater that was last seen approximately 24 hours prior. RAVEN 2 located the subjects in the Hell’s Kitchen area, and through a radio discussion with a nearby boater, learned that they were out of fuel and requesting a tow. The Pyramid Lake SAR boat located the subjects through the help of coordinates from RAVEN and towed the subjects back to Pelican Dock. A cold night was spent on the boat, but no medical issues were reported.

10/22/2018 – Fish Springs Missing Subject

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the area of Fish Springs Rd. and Honey Lake Rd. to search for a missing 85yo subject that went for a short walk. After a couple of hours of searching, the subject was located asleep in a trailer on a friend’s property in the area.

10/20/2018 – Back Country EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU assisted TMFPD in locating, treating, packaging, and transporting a subject that had a medical episode while surveying for a fence line on ranch property off of Toll Rd.

10/15/2018 – Garson Rd. C50

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU responded to the Garson Rd. entrance across from Boomtown to assist with the recovery of a deceased subject approximately four miles from staging. The subject experienced some sort of medical episode while taking a break from dirt bike riding. Family members performed CPR until Care Flight arrived, but the subject did not survive. SAR resources assisted with the transport of the subject down to staging.

10/16/2018 – Relay Peak EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Mt. Rose summit for an injured hiker near the radio towers on Relay Peak. As SAR teams were en route, NLTFPD located and packaged the subject, and was heading down to staging. SAR response was cancelled.
