6/10/19 – Chimney Beach Lost Subjects

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and WCSAR began responding to an area near Chimney Beach at Lake Tahoe to locate some lost female hikers that had been to the beach. Before SAR personnel reached the area, NLTFPD located the subjects and walked them to the parking lot. Further SAR response was cancelled.

6/10/19 – High Rock Canyon Stuck Truck

SAR Staff and the SVU responded to an area in High Rock Canyon to locate two subjects that requested assistance with a stuck 4×4 truck. Another vehicle had come across them the day before and was unable to get the stuck 4×4 extricated. That individual made a call to 911 when they returned to cell phone coverage. SAR members located the subjects and attempted to get the truck out of its situation, but was unsuccessful. The subjects were transported to Gerlach and were put in touch with a local tow company.

6/9/19 – Pyramid Lake Boat in Distress

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU began responding to Pyramid Lake on the report of a boat with five subjects on board that was taking on water. As teams were leaving the Reno area, the subjects were located on shore in the area of Separator Beach. Further SAR response was cancelled.

6/8/19 – Overdue Back-country Hiker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and WCSAR responded to the Mt. Rose Summit parking lot to search for an overdue back-country hiker that was last seen just below the Mt. Rose summit approximately six hours previous. As teams were arriving in the area, one member coming in from the Incline Village side of the meadows located the subject as he popped out onto the road. He was transported to staging.

6/5/19 – Swiftwater Rescue

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to assist TMFPD in locating and rescuing two subjects that were spotted in the Truckee River near Lockwood. As SAR personnel were arriving on scene, the subjects were located by TMFPD firefighters and removed from the river. They were checked by REMSA medics.
