The SVU assisted the Washoe County radio shop in getting fuel to the generator that’s powering the repeater equipment on Virginia Peak.

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the N. Virginia entrance to Peavine to locate seven subjects in one vehicle that were stuck somewhere on the main road. SAR teams located the vehicle approximately two miles from the bottom. The seven subjects, five of them being juveniles, were transported down to staging.

The SVU was again requested to transport county radio personnel and to the top of Virginia Peak for repair of the repeater system. Personnel, equipment, and a generator were transported to the site.

The SVU were requested to transport county radio personnel to the top of Slide Mountain for repair work on the repeater system. Deep snow prohibited the Pisten Bully from reaching the site.

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR were requested to assist Storey County deputies in evacuating an 80 year old subject from his snowbound residence, north of Virginia City. He had been without heat and power for a number of days, and was unable to leave the area due to deep snow. SAR personnel, using tracked vehicles, were able to gain access to the property and evacuate the subject, along with his dog and cat.
