1/6/18 – Lost Snowshoer

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to a mutual aid call from Douglas County involving a lost snowshoer in an area south of Dagget Pass on Kingsbury Grade. Foot teams searched an area that was designated high-priority through cell phone forensics. The subject was located, alive, the following morning by a helicopter.

1/6/18 – Lost Snowshoers

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and WCSAR responded to the Tahoe Meadows to locate and rescue three people snowshoeing in the Meadows area. Through a cell phone text ping, the rescuers located the subjects and safely guided them back to staging at SR431.

12/29/2018 – Lost Subjects, Tamarack Lake Area

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and WCSAR responded to the Tamarack Lake pull-out on SR431 to locate three subjects that were lost, having difficulty in the snow, and frustrated by the tree cover. Ground teams accessed their location by using a SAR text ping and safely guided them down to staging.

12/28/2018 – Tamarack Lake Area EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR were responded to the Tamarack Lake area on the report of a back-country skier with a leg injury. Ground teams were able to locate the subject’s party, treat, package, and transport down to staging where the subject was transported by ambulance.

12/18/2018 – Evidence Search

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR were requested to assist RPD in searching for evidence related to a recent homicide in the area of 4th Street and the I580 overpass.
