4/9/21 – Moonrocks EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU BC, and WCSAR BC responded to an area just west of the Moonrocks for a dirt biker that was reported to have a leg injury. Care Flight was en route, as was TMFR. Once the subject was located, Care Flight determined that they would not be able to land close to the site. Ground teams were transported in by side x sides. The subject was packaged by medics while Care Flight repositioned themselves closer to the crash scene. The patient was carried to the helicopter and flown to a local hospital. All other personnel returned safely to staging.

4/9/21 – Washoe Valley EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty, and the SVU began responding to a location on the east side of Washoe Valley to locate an equestrian rider who had fallen off her horse and suffered injuries. As teams were en route, Care Flight and TMFR were able to locate the subject and begin medical care. SAR response was cancelled.

4/5/21 – Peavine Stuck Vehicle

SAR Staff, a Hasty Medic, REMSA, and the SVU responded to the N. Virginia entrance to Peavine for a subject that was stuck toward the top of Peavine and was complaining of shortness of breath (which was later determined to be from shoveling, not a medical issue). Teams located the subject and his two dogs at the provided coordinates and transported him down to staging. He was then provided a ride home.

4/4/21 – Stranded Hikers

SAR Staff, Hasty Team BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC staged at two locations to locate and safely guide a stranded pair of hikers on the Jones Creek/Whites Creek Loop. BC teams entered from the Jones Creek entrance, and SVU transported other BC teams in on the Whites Creek entrance. The subjects were located by the teams coming in from the Jones Creek side first, and although they were slightly closer to the SVU transport teams on the Whites Creek side, it was decided to take them down the Jones Creek side due to snow depth conditions. The pair of hikers were safely escorted down to staging.

4/1/21 – Dog Valley Rd. Stuck Vehicle

As teams were en route, the subjects were able to extricate themselves and drive back the way they came in. SAR response was cancelled.
