6/9/25 Stranded Hikers Thomas Creek

SAR Staff, RAVEN, and Hasty hoist personnel rescued two stranded hikers near the ridge above Thomas Creek. They got into an area that was going to take more physical energy to get out of than they had left to do. Both subjects were successfully hoisted to RAVEN3 and transported to the Stead airport, then driven to their vehicle.

6/3/25 – Truckee River Drowning Search

SAR Staff, swiftwater personnel, and shore support personnel were requested to stage in east Sparks to search for a possible drowning victim that was spotted by four people, floating down river. Sparks FD did the initial hasty search, then Washoe County was brought in to continue with rafts, shore support, and drones. Negative results.

5/31/25 – Relay Ridge Stranded Hikers

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR staged at the Mt. Rose Summit to access three hikers near Relay Ridge that could not make it back to their vehicle before dark. SVU attempted to access the area, but were blocked by large snow drifts on the road. Back country personnel were then brought in and located the subjects. One of the individuals required medical attention, so a wheeled litter was brought in for transport.

5/31/25 – Hidden Valley EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to Hidden Valley Park to access a subject that was having a medical episode. The subject was placed in a wheeled stokes, then transported down to staging for further medical evaluation.
