5/23/24 – Missing Subject Spanish Springs

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR were requested to respond to an area in Spanish Springs to search for a missing subject. The subject’s vehicle and some personal items were located in the area. As teams were searching, a hiker called 911 to report a person that appeared to need assistance in the hills to the south of the search area. Teams located the subject, medical assistance was provided, and the individual was transported to the hospital.

5/21/24 – Dog Valley Stranded Subjects

SAR Staff and the SVU staged in Verdi to locate two subjects and two dogs that had run out of gas in Dog Valley. They had driven for a number of hours looking for Crystal Peak, but due to unfamiliarity with the area, could not find it. Sierra County SO located the subjects, but had a mechanical break-down shortly after. SVU SxSs located the group and transported the original subjects and dogs to staging in Verdi while a towing organization assisted the disabled Sierra County SO vehicle.

5/19/24 – Crispy Bacon Trail Mountain Bike EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC responded to the Kings Row entrance to Peavine to locate a mountain biker who had taken a fall and suffered a head injury. The subject was located and teams assisted TMFR with the transport down to staging.
