2/12/22 – Jones/Whites Creek Hikers

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR BC responded to the area Jones Creek/Whites Creek to locate two subjects that had lost the trail they were hiking on and were getting tired. RAVEN initially located the pair while ground teams went in on foot. The subjects were located, given warm clothing and liquids, and escorted down to staging.

2/7/22 – Sheeps Flat EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC responded to Sheeps Flat to assist NLTFPD in locating, treating, and transporting a subject that was having a medical episode. The subject was located and made the decision that they would walk out to staging, with assistance.

2/6/22 – Stampede Reservoir Recovery OP2

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR joined assets from Placer County and Sierra County to locate and recover a drowning victim, an ice skater who fell through the ice from the previous day. A ROV was deployed under the ice to locate the subject. He was then brought to the surface, moved to the shoreline, and transported by RAVEN to the medical examiner back at staging.

2/5/22 – Stampede Reservoir Recovery

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU responded to the Stampede Reservoir area to assist multiple agencies in the recovery of an ice skater that fell through the ice and did was unable to get out before he went under. Due to the impending darkness and the complexity of the recovery, the mission was suspended until the following morning.

2/4/22 – Whites Creek PLB

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR BC began responding to the Whites Creek Trailhead area to search for a subject that fired of his PLB. RAVEN was first in the area but was not finding any evidence of a hiker being in the area of the coordinates. The subject’s vehicle was located at one of the Galena Park lots. As teams were arriving at staging, the subject walked out to his vehicle. He had fired off his PLB due to a medical episode but felt better after a short period of time. He was checked by a Hasty medic and released.
