5/30/21 – Hunter Creek Trail Stranded Rock Climber

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, and WCSAR BC responded to the Michael Thompson Trailhead to locate and rescue a free-climber that was stuck on a steep slope of loose rock. He was in a position that would not let him go up, down, or sideways. Once teams located the subject, they used a rope system to lower him down 450′ to the trail so that he could be escorted back to staging.

5/28/21 – Browns Creek EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC staged at the Tannenbaum Events Center to locate a hiker on the Browns Creek Trail that was lost and complaining that he didn’t feel well. As SAR teams were arriving at staging, TMFR located the subject and transported him to REMSA medics.

5/23/21 – Mountain Biker EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, and WCSAR BC staged at the Tannenbaum Event Center for a mountain biker that had sustained injuries from a fall on a trail paralleling Galena Creek. NLTFPD personnel accessed the area first and were able to package the patient, then moved him to a side x side for transport to a waiting ambulance.

5/21/21 – Double Hot EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty/REMSA medics, Hasty, RAVEN, SVU, and NAS Fallon were requested to respond to Double Hot hot springs on the Black Rock playa for a subject that had fallen into the hot springs and was severely scalded. The subject was given medical treatment, packaged, then flown by NAS Fallon to Renown.

5/19/21 – Mt. Rose Lost Hikers

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, and WCSAR BC responded to the Mt. Rose Summit parking lot to locate two subjects that were lost and cold. Cell phone coordinates placed them about 750′ northwest of the Galena Creek Falls. Ground teams located them at the location, provided warm clothing, and guided them back to staging.
