12/13/20 – Dog Valley Stranded Vehicle, Part 2

SAR Staff, Hasty Medics, Sierra County SO, and the SVU again traveled to the location of yesterday’s stranded vehicle. A couple of inches of new snow had fallen since last night, with more to come. The subject changed his mind about not leaving, and he and his dog were transported out of the area. Sierra County SO took control of the case.

12/12/20 – Dog Valley Stranded Vehicle

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU responded to Dog Valley to locate a subject was stuck and very close to sliding off a cliff. The subject was located in a precarious position, but refused to assistance. Sierra County Deputies were called in and guided to the location. The subject refused their help as well.

12/10/20 – Evidence Search

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR assisted Sparks PD and WCSO Detectives with an evidence search in the area of Pyramid and McCarran Blvd relative to an officer involved shooting.

12/8/20 – Peavine Stranded UTV

SAR Staff and the SVU responded to a staging location at Bordertown to locate three subjects in a UTV that was out of fuel. It was dark, the subjects were lost and cold. When teams reached the location, they supplied the UTV with fuel and heat for the subjects. One of the individuals was transported down to staging in an enclosed, heated cab. The subjects were checked by a Hasty/REMSA medic.

12/6/20 – Tahoe/Pyramid Bike Trail EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team BC, and WCSAR BC responded to an area near the Nevada/California state line to locate and assist a mountain biker who took a fall that resulted in what could have been a severe injury. As teams were getting close to the location of the subject, Care Flight was able to land and transport the subject.
