9/6/20 – Mine Check

SAR Staff and the Hasty Team responded to an abandoned mine off of the Pyramid Lake highway, just west of the reservation, to check on a reported odd smell emanating from an abandoned mine shaft. A Hasty member was lowered into the mine, but nothing was located.

9/6/20 – Galena Falls EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR assisted NLTFPD in locating and transporting an injured hiker from the area of the Galena Falls on the Mt. Rose Trail. The subject was packaged in a wheeled litter and transported to waiting UTV’s. The UTV’s transported the subject, a medic, and all fire personnel back to staging. SAR BC made the short hike back to a Hasty Truck parked near Relay Ridge Rd. for the trip out.

9/4/20 – Nevada County Assist

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and RAVEN were requested by Nevada County for mutual aide in locating and hoisting a subject in a remote area of the county that was suffering from possible altitude sickness. The subject was located, hoisted, and flown to a landing zone for transfer to an ambulance.

9/4/20 – Lemmon Valley Stranded Subject

SAR Staff and the SVU responded to the dirt extension of Chickadee Dr. to locate a subject that had been stuck since around midnight. Due to the background of the subject, SAR32 detoured from his route to staging and headed to the location of the subject. Two other subjects allegedly walked away from the vehicle during the night and had not been heard from since. A team was sent in on the likely route that the two missing subjects would have taken, but nothing was located. Another team was sent in to where the subject was located. The subject secured the vehicle and was transported to his residence. The other two subjects were later located at two separate houses.

8/30/20 – Mid-Tahoe Drowning

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU, assisted by Placer County SO, used ROV technology to check the area where a drowning subject is believed to be. The depth of the area is approximately 1520′. Negative results.
