8/16/20 – Tahoe Drowning

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU again assisted Douglas County with searching for a drowning victim at about mid-lake, using ROVs. The subject was not located.

8/15/20 – Loyalton Fire Evacuations

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the fire station in Silver Knolls to perform fire evacuations for the residences along Red Rock Road, north of Silver Knolls due to the Loyalton Fire. As darkness arrived, the fire was deemed to not be a threat to the area, so SAR resources were released for the evening.

8/15/20 – Galena Creek Falls EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR BC staged at the Mt. Rose Summit parking lot to locate a subject that was having a medical episode on the Mt. Rose Trail, near the Galena Creek Falls. Teams accessed the patient by foot and assisted closing down the trail when RAVEN arrived to hoist the patient. She was then delivered to an LZ at the Mt. Rose Summit parking area to be transferred to REMSA. The family of the patient, SAR BC, and one TMFR member then hiked to where the SVU was able to stage and were transported back to the Mt. Rose Summit parking lot.

8/14/20 – Mid-Tahoe Drowning

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and the SVU assisted Douglas County SO with attempting to locate a drowning victim in Lake Tahoe. Both Douglas County and Washoe County deployed ROV’s to depths of 1500’+ in an attempt to find the subject. The day ended without success.
