SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR staged at the Winter’s Creek side of Slide Mountain to search for a missing subject from Idaho. His cell phone ping placed him in an area just to the north of Winter’s Creek, but his vehicle was not found in the area. Searchers checked the location of the ping, along with areas in the general vicinity, but nothing was located. As the search areas started to go farther out, the subject was located in his vehicle on a little-known dirt road to the northwest of the Mt. Rose Ski area parking lot. He was brought out to an ambulance and was transported to a local hospital.

5/31/20 – Hunter Creek Trail EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team BC, RAVEN, and WCSAR BC responded to the Michael Thompson Trailhead to locate a hiker with a possible broken ankle. Some rain showers had come through the area, making the trail more treacherous than normal. The lead ground teams were able to access the location just as RAVEN arrived in the area. A hoist was performed and the subject was transferred to a REMSA ambulance at a landing zone near the staging location. On the way down, the lead team encountered another group of hikers that were out of water and were traveling extremely slow. Water was supplied to them and they were very slowly escorted down to staging.
