11/25/2017 – Boat in Distress

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR were diverted from the Sand Harbor call for a second mission at Pyramid Lake. A small fishing boat was reported to be flashing a light toward shore in the Pelican Bay area. As teams were en route, PLPD located the boat at the Pelican Docks and determined that the boat was never in distress, but actually attempting to spot the dock with a flashlight. SAR response was cancelled.

11/20/2017 – Injured Dirt Biker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Moonrocks area to assist TMFPD in locating and transporting an injured dirt biker. TMFPD personnel, coming in from a different direction, were first on scene. RAVEN was brought in for a hoist and moved the subject to a waiting ambulance. He was then transported to a hospital.

11/19/2017 – Injured Subject

IMT, Hasty, RAVEN, and WCSAR responded to the area of Rattlesnake Mountain to search for a subject that was heard by a person yelling for help. Ground teams, along with RAVEN, thoroughly searched the north side of the mountain, but did not locate anyone. The search was suspended.

11/19/2017 – Stranded Motorist

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to a staging location at Warriors Point to search for a subject that had been stranded for approximately three days. He stated that he was out of food and water, and was very cold. A cell phone ping placed him off of SR445 near Flanigan. The subject and his vehicle were located in the area, off of the road in the general area of Flanigan. He was treated for hypothermia at the scene and transported to a REMSA ambulance waiting at Doyle.
