SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and SVU began responding to the Gerlach area on the report of a stranded couple at the north end of the Black Rock, east of Soldier Meadows Rd. As SAR assets were leaving the Reno area, the subject called SAR Staff back to say they had changed their minds and were going to have a tow truck from Gerlach get them out. SAR response was cancelled. (The tow truck refused to go out on the playa, so the subjects had to walk approximately one mile to road for transportation, leaving their vehicle stuck on the playa.)
