9/3/2016 – Injured Mountain Biker

9/3/2016 – Missing Boater

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR resumed the search for the missing boater. Both Marine 10 and 20 were again launched and checked areas south of Pelican dock all the way to the south end of the lake. RAVEN spotted the boat drifting about 2.5 miles off Pelican Point. Marine 10 and 20 came on scene and determined that no one was on board. The boat was towed back to Pelican Dock. At about the time the boats arrived at the dock, the subject’s dog was located at the Willows, showing that the subject and boat most likely had made it to that location, but the boat blew away when the wind came up in the evening. The search then switched to a possible body recovery in the shallow area of that part of the lake.

9/2/2016 – Lost Hikers

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Browns Creek Trail to search for two female hikers that called for assistance, stating that they were lost. Foot teams entered from two directions and located the subjects quickly. They were given food and warm clothing and escorted back to staging.

9/2 – 9/3/2016 – Missing Boater at Pyramid Lake

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to Pyramid Lake to search for a missing boater. The subject left the Pelican dock in the late afternoon en route to the Willows area and did not meet two individuals later that evening. The SVU was already stationed at the lake for the Labor Day weekend. Very windy and wavy conditions made searching difficult but an area from Pelican Dock to the Willows, and back down to Anaho Island was searched. Nothing was located, so the search was suspended until daybreak.
