9/11/2016 – Missing Subject

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the north end of Rancho Haven to search for a subject that had left his girlfriend and stuck truck two days previous, but never returned. Teams located the female, who was still at the truck – camped in a tent. She stated that her boyfriend had left on an ATV two days previous, and never returned. The female was transported back to staging and interviewed by SAR staff. It was learned that the boyfriend had done this before, so SAR assets were asked to return to staging until new information was gathered.

9/11/2016 – Missing Hiker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Mt. Rose summit parking area to search for a female subject that became separated from her husband. As teams were arriving in the area, the missing subject contacted WCSO Deputies, but the husband, who had gone back to look for her, was now missing. Before SAR teams were deployed, the husband contacted authorities by phone stating that he was fine and was on the way back to staging.

9/10/2016 – Injured Mountain Biker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to Tunnel Creek Station in Incline on the report of a mountain biker with a hip injury on the Flume Trail. SAR teams assisted NLTFPD in packaging and transporting the subject in a wheeled litter to a waiting ambulance.

9/6/2016 – Injured Hiker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Reno Sports Complex at Rancho San Rafael for an injured hiker. RFD had made patient contact by the time SAR assets got to the area, but assistance was given, along with transporting the subject’s partner.

9/5/2016 – Drowning Victim Recovery

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR assisted PLPD in locating a the drowning victim from the 9/3 mission. Swimmers and divers conducted a grid search of the area which was anywhere from a couple of feet deep to about seven feet. The subject was located in approximately 6.5 feet of water, about 70 yards from shore. The subject was packaged and moved to M20, which then transported him to Pelican dock. He was then turned over to Pyramid Lake authorities.
