SAR Staff and the SVU assisted WCSO detectives to search for evidence above the Pinehaven area concerning possible crimes.
SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Mt. Rose area to locate and transport an injured hiker. The subject was approximately one mile below Mt. Rose Peak, on the hiking trail, with a leg injury. A Hasty Team member happened to be on the trail at the time and came across the subject. Team members were able to drive into Frog Pond and start hiking from that point, along with some of them being transported by SVU to a location just north of the waterfall to begin their hike. Just before ground teams got to the subject, RAVEN was able to hoist a Hasty medic and other Hasty members down to her for packaging and transport. She was flown to staging at the Mt. Rose Summit parking lot, and transferred to an ambulance.
SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to Pelican Point on the report of a disabled boat with five people on board near the Pyramid. As teams were en route, the PLPD boat was able to locate the vessel and took them in tow. SAR assets staged at Pelican docks to make sure all parties got off the lake safely.
SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Gerlach area to search for an overdue couple that were supposedly hunting in an area near Vya. As teams were heading to Gerlach, some background checking was done by SAR Staff and discovered that they were actually hunting in the area of Leadville Canyon and were not to return until the next day. Fortunately, the missing couple came into cell phone reception and talked to SAR Staff, confirming that they were not overdue. SAR response was cancelled.
SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Sommersett fire station entrance to Peavine to locate an injured mountain biker. As teams arrived, it was learned that a companion to the injured mountain biker had driven up in his own truck and picked up the injured subject. A RFD medical unit met them on the way out, but the subject refused transport.
