SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Moon Rocks to assist Care Flight, REMSA, and TMFPD on the report of an injury ATV accident in a ravine. Upon arrival, it was learned that it was a rock crawler with two subjects that rolled down into a very steep ravine and sustained serious injuries. Care Flight was unable to land at the site, and requested RAVEN for a hoist. SAR teams were transported to a location about 1/2 mile from the accident scene, where they had to walk the rest of the distance. RAVEN hoisted down two Hasty Team members to assist. At about that time, one of the victims was declared deceased, and the other was downgraded to critical. The critical patient was hoisted up to the helicopter and transported to staging where he was carried to a waiting ambulance, which then transported him to the Care Flight helicopter. SAR teams were then tasked with assisting the medical examiner and packaging the deceased subject for a wheeled litter transport down to a waiting side x side, which then transported the subject to the staging area.
