4/12/2015 – Lost Hikers

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Tahoe Meadows to search for two subjects that were confused as to where they were. Their cell phone ping put them fairly close to Price Lake, but during phone conversations with SAR Staff, they were unsure of which way to go to get back to Tahoe Meadows. They were told to stay where they were….and they did! Foot teams located them and guided them safely back to staging.

4/5/2015 – Lost/Stranded 4x4ers

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR staged at the Kiowa Ponds entrance to Peavine to search for two lost subjects whose 4×4 was high-centered on a large rock. Search teams were able to locate the subjects and assisted them in removing their vehicle from the rock. They were escorted safely back to staging.

3/29/2015 – Search for Injured Horseback Rider

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to Frontier Rd. and Red Rock to search for an injured horseback rider. Before SAR assets arrived on scene, the subject was located and transported by the local Volunteer Fire Department and handed off to a waiting REMSA ambulance.

3/29/2015 – Search for Missing/Overdue Dirt Bike Rider

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Lemmon Valley – Chickadee entrance to Hungry Valley to search for an overdue dirt bike rider that was unfamiliar with the area. Before SAR teams arrived at staging, the subject was located, out of gas, by another rider.

3/22/2015 – Search for Injured ATV Rider

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to an area off of Antelope Valley Road to locate a subject with a head injury. She had rolled her ATV and was not wearing a helmet. Just as SAR teams were arriving at staging, it was learned that a family member, against advice from dispatch, had transported the injured subject from the accident scene and met an ambulance that was waiting at staging.
