7/4/22 – Drowning Recovery Mutual Aide

SAR Staff, Hasty Team swimmers and divers, and WCSAR shore support responded to a small reservoir in Lyon County to locate and recover a fisherman that had gone missing earlier in the afternoon. The subject was located by Hasty swimmers, brought to the surface by a Hasty diver, and turned over to the local authorities.

7/3/22 – Mt. Rose Trail EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC responded to the Mt. Rose Summit parking lot to locate a subject near Galena Creek Falls that was experiencing a medical episode. SAR teams located the subject and his friends as they were walking out. After the initial incident, some hydration enabled the subject to start feeling better so that they could hike toward the trailhead. He was checked by medics and released.

6/26/22 – Pyramid Lake Stranded Boat

SAR Staff, the SVU, and a Hasty medic began responding to Pyramid Lake to locate and tow a boat that was out of gas near the Needles. There were four occupants on board. Before SAR assets got on the water, another boat, carrying extra fuel, arrived at the location of the disabled boat. Enough gas was given to them to return to Pelican Docks. SAR assets were canceled.

6/25/22 – Jumbo Grade Lost Hiker

SAR Staff and the SVU responded to the Jumbo Grade OHV staging area to locate a hiker that was lost approximately three miles to the northeast. Using a phone ping coordinate, the subject was located, given water, and transported down to staging where they were handed off to a relative for a ride home.

6/25/22 – Mt. Rose Trail EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, and WCSAR BC responded to the Mt. Rose Summit parking lot to locate a subject that was reported to being experiencing a medical issue approximately two miles up the trail. As the initial BC team began traveling up the trail, they ran into the subject about 1/4 mile from staging. The subject was escorted down to medics for assessment.
