1/14/24 – Dog Rescue

SAR Staff, Hasty Rope Rescue and BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC responded to Quail Canyon Rd. to perform a rescue of a hunting dog and its’ owner that were stranded on a cliff face. Both parties were rescued without incident.

1/10/24 – Stranded Subject Quail Canyon Rd.

SAR Staff and the SVU responded to Quail Canyon Rd. off of SR445 to locate a vehicle with one subject that had slid off the road. Once the site was located, the subject chose not to be transported out to staging. SAR assets returned to staging. As this was occurring, another SVU team was sent in on a different road from SR446 to locate a PLPD Officer that was stuck on a road, trying to access the subject mentioned earlier. Due to heavy snow and weather conditions, the officer was transported down to staging.

1/6/24 – Missing X-Country Skier

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU Tracked Vehicles, and WCSAR BC began responding to Sheeps Flat to locate a cross-country skier that became separated from a group during a snowstorm. The subject did not have a phone with her, so location retrieval was not possible. As teams were beginning to go en route, the subject was located by an WCSO Incline Village Deputy along the highway on the Tahoe side of SR431.

12/28/23 – Stranded Subjects on Garson Rd.

SAR Staff and the SVU responded to Garson Rd. to locate two subjects in a vehicle that was stuck in the snow. The subjects and vehicle were located, stuck in a ditch on the side of the road. Both individuals were transported down to staging.

12/5/23 Truckee River Evidence Search

SAR Staff, Hasty swimmers, SVU shore support, and WCSAR shore support responded to the area of Galletti Way and Glendale to search the river for a piece of evidence related to a recent crime.
