11/28/2015 – Injured Snowmobiler

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Sheeps Flat area on a report of a snowmobiler with a shoulder injury, approximately 2.5 miles from staging. As teams were arriving, the subject arrived at the staging location on his own, and was transported by ambulance.

11/24/2015 – Stranded Subjects

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Verdi entrance to Dog Valley to assist Sierra County in locating two subjects that were stuck in snow on the Henness Pass Road. As teams were arriving in the area, a Deputy located the subjects and transported them down to staging.

11/23-24/2015 – Stranded Overdue Subjects

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Black Rock Desert to search for two subjects that were stuck in a wet area of the Black Rock Desert, in the vicinity of the Quinn River – south of Black Rock Point. ATV’s were able to travel across the playa, but 4×4 searchers were forced to take an alternate route to get to Double Hot Springs. An ATV team located the subjects approximately eleven miles southeast of Double Hot Springs. They were able to extricate the vehicle from the mud, and escort the subjects to the 4×4 teams at Double Hot. Everyone returned to the staging at the 12 mile entrance to the Black Rock, taking various routes due to damp playa conditions.

11/19/2015 – Possible Lost Subject

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the area of Spanish Springs HS on Eagle Canyon to search for a possible lost 61yo subject. As search teams were arriving in the area, RAVEN located the subject, and vectored patrol deputies to the location near the high school. Medical was requested for a possible fall that the subject had experienced.

11/17/2015 – EMS Callout

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the N. Virginia entrance to Peavine to locate a subject on the mountain with a medical condition. As teams were arriving at staging, Careflight located the subject, and SAR response was cancelled.
