5/21/24 – Dog Valley Stranded Subjects

SAR Staff and the SVU staged in Verdi to locate two subjects and two dogs that had run out of gas in Dog Valley. They had driven for a number of hours looking for Crystal Peak, but due to unfamiliarity with the area, could not find it. Sierra County SO located the subjects, but had a mechanical break-down shortly after. SVU SxSs located the group and transported the original subjects and dogs to staging in Verdi while a towing organization assisted the disabled Sierra County SO vehicle.

5/19/24 – Crispy Bacon Trail Mountain Bike EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC responded to the Kings Row entrance to Peavine to locate a mountain biker who had taken a fall and suffered a head injury. The subject was located and teams assisted TMFR with the transport down to staging.

5/19/24 – Hidden Valley UTV Accident

SAR Staff, Hasty BC, SVU, and WCSAR BC staged in the area of Short Lane to access a subject that had rolled his SxS, then walked away from it until he became disoriented. Foot teams located the subject and requested SVU SxSs to assist with the transport. Unfortunately, there were no viable routes to the location, so the subject, due to medical conditions, needed to be placed in a stokes and wheel and moved down to a staging location at Mia Vista Park.
