1/25/2016 – Lost/Stranded Dirt Bikers

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Verdi entrance to Dog Valley on the report of two dirt bikers that were disoriented, and had run out of gas. The subjects had supplied a coordinate from a phone, and described their location as having a lot of snow. 4×4’s were sent in through Sommersett, and ATV’s traveled in through Dog Valley. The ATV team was able to locate the two subjects in the general area of the coordinates, but road sign numbers were much more helpful in this case….which is what the subjects had described when talking to SAR staff. Due to snowy road conditions, and the distance back to staging, the dirt bikes were left at the location, and the subjects were safely transported back to staging.
