1/23/2016 – Boater in Distress

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and SVU responded to Pyramid Lake to assist PLTPD in locating a boat that was in distress. Three adults and one child had ventured out on a very windy day and got caught in very large waves. They were afraid to travel back to Pelican Dock, against the waves, from the middle of the lake. The Pyramid Lake boat located the subjects just as other SAR assets arrived on scene, and they escorted them back to the dock. The child had been transferred to the Police boat, but the three adults were totally soaked from water spray. All were transferred to ambulances for treatment of hypothermia.
