2/3/2016 – Stuck Subjects near Pinehaven

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the end of Pinehaven Rd. to locate two subjects that were in a stuck vehicle, along with a RPD vehicle that had become stuck while looking for them. Both vehicles were located about a mile from staging, but in two different areas. While an SVU team transported the original subjects out to staging, WCSAR and Hasty assisted the RPD vehicle out of it’s situation and back to staging.

2/3/2016 – Stuck Subjects

SAR Staff, SVU, and WCSAR traveled to an area northwest of Gerlach to locate two stuck subjects. The report came in that the subjects were stuck in deep snow, so it was decided to take 4×4 SAR vehicles and the snowcat as a backup asset. Coordinates were provided, which showed them being about 15 miles from SR447 on the Wall Canyon Reservoir Rd. The 4×4 SAR vehicles located them at the coordinates, and quickly got them out of their predicament. The area really did not have much snow to speak of, but their vehicle had found an area where snow had filled in a slight depression in the road. They were escorted safely back to Gerlach.
