2/26/2015 – Lost/Standed Subjects

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Jumbo Grade OHV Trailhead to search for two subjects in a stranded vehicle. Search teams were given cell phone ping coordinates, and navigated to that location. The subjects were found in the disabled vehicle and were transported safely back to staging.

2/25/2015 – Missing Subject

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Thomas Creek Trailhead off of the Mt. Rose Highway to search for a subject that was last seen on Sunday, and his vehicle was found parked at the trailhead. As teams were arriving, it was discovered that the subject was wanted by Parole and Probation, and he was known to be violent and carry firearms. The decision was made to cancel the response.

UPDATE: The subject was located at a convenience store later that evening by law enforcement.

2/22/2015 – Search for Lost Subject

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Golden Eagle Sports Complex area to search for a subject whose 4×4 had become disabled. He had walked away from the vehicle to get cell phone reception, but couldn’t find it when he attempted to return. Search teams located the subject, and his dog, walking along a road. Both were transported to staging.

2/14/2015 – Stranded/Lost Subject

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Pinehaven area to search for a stranded subject that was not sure where she was. Although search teams located the subject southwest of Moss Lake, the coordinates provided from the subject’s phone were incorrect. Teams were able to extricate the subject’s stuck vehicle and escort her back to staging.

2/11/2015 – Missing Subject

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Spanish Springs High School area to search for a subject that was supposed to walk home from the high school to his house off Highland Ranch in Sun Valley, but never made it there. SAR teams checked the hills to the west and south of the high school, all the way to the Sun Valley area. Teams also checked local businesses to the east and north of the staging area. Through news reports, a tip was given that he was possibly at a residence off of Eagle Canyon. Deputies located the subject at a friend’s house.
