SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the trailhead for the Hunter Creek trail on the report of a subject that had taken a fall, approximately 1/2 mile below the waterfall.  Truckee Meadows Fire was already hiking to the subject when SAR resources arrived.  RAVEN located the subject and hoisted him to the helicopter, then landed a short distance away and transferred the subject to Careflight, which transported him to a waiting ambulance at staging.  The subject declined medical assistance, so he was released and waited for his hiking party to arrive at staging, which was being escorted down the trail by fire personnel and SAR resources.

To complicate matters, his bike was above him at about the 20 ft. level and leaking gas.   Team members were able to stabilize the bike and lift the subject out.  Because he was wearing full off-road motocross protective gear, he only had a broken ankle.
