1/24/2016 – Drowning Victim Recovery

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and SVU responded to Pyramid Lake to complete the recovery of a drowning victim from October 31st of 2015. Sidescan sonar work from two weeks previous was able to locate the subject, and this mission was for divers to make the recovery. Once the target and buoy system was successfully dropped at the correct location, and sidescan sonar was able to verify that the target was within 10 feet of the victim, the dive team was deployed. Since the subject was at a depth of 95′, time in the water was very limited for the divers, but they successfully recovered the subject.
