SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to Pyramid Lake to assist Pyramid Lake SAR in searching for two missing PWC with four people. The subjects were camped at the South Nets, so a boat and shore search were originally planned. While SAR teams were en route, one of the subjects arrived back at the camp and stated that the other three were stranded on the Pyramid. As more information was gathered, it was determined that while climbing the Pyramid, one of the subjects had fallen approximately 30′ and had multiple injuries, another subject had fallen about 6′ and had minor injuries, while the third subject was uninjured. RAVEN was brought in to perform a hoist, but determined that the wind conditions were too strong to safely complete the mission. Rope tech teams, along with REMSA medics, were being transported across the lake to perform a high angle rope rescue. Just as the rope teams arrived at the location, the wind died down enough for RAVEN to attempt a hoist of the most severely injured subject, which was successful. The other two subjects were placed on board one of the rescue boats and brought back to the Pelican Beach staging area for REMSA medics to treat and transport.
