6/15/2016 – Fire Evacuations

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR assisted multiple agencies with evacuations of neighborhoods in the Caughlin Ranch area for the Hawken Fire, as well as the neighborhoods in the area of the LaFond Fire.

6/14/2016 – Injured Mountain Biker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR assisted NLTFPD in locating and rescuing a mountain biker who had crashed off of the Flume Trail in the Tunnel Creek area. He had an open leg wound, and was approximately 50′ down from the trail in a particularly steep section. While fire crews started walking into the location, SAR assets were sent to both the Tunnel Creek entrance at the old Ponderosa, as well as being staged at Marlette Lake. RAVEN was also dispatched and located the subject approximately 1/4 – 1/2 mile from Marlette Lake. RAVEN performed a hoist of the subject and flew him to a landing zone that was set up at the Village Green in Incline Village. An ambulance then transported him to Reno.

6/12/2016 – Lost Hiker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Mt. Rose trailhead to search for a lost hiker. As teams were en route, it was discovered that the subject was somewhere on the pole line road to the north of the Mt. Rose Ski Resort. It was then reported that a female subject was standing next to the highway near Sky Tavern. A responding team member located her just below the ski resort, reporting to be dizzy. REMSA was requested and SAR response was cancelled.

6/11/2016 – Missing Autistic Child

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Arrowcreek area to search for a missing autistic child. Before teams arrived, the child was located in the backyard of a neighbor’s yard. Team response was cancelled.
