7/26/2015 – Pyramid Lake Water Rescue

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to Pyramid Lake to assist Pyramid Lake Police on the report of two people in the water that had tried to swim to a drifting boat in the Needles area, but couldn’t catch up with it. Two people on shore lost site of the two subjects in the water, so a call was made for help. The two subjects in the water were able to swim to shore and were eventually located by a Careflight helicopter. The Pyramid Lake Police boat had been launched, but was unable to locate the drifting boat, which was being moved along at a good clip in wind and waves. RAVEN was able to locate the two other subjects, and guide ground SAR resources to pick them up.

7/25/2015 – Mt. Rose EMS

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR assisted NLTFPD with a mountain biker who had crashed and sustained injuries on the “Chinese Downhill Trail” above Incline Village.

7/22/2015 – Kayakers in Distress

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to Ski Beach at Incline on the report of two kayakers that were in distress. Ping coordinates put one of the subjects in the Crystal Bay area. Both subjects went into the water after their kayaks capsized, and they became separated. One subject was located on the shore, and the second was located by a NLTFPD rescue boat. SAR response was cancelled.

7/20/2015 – Injured Hiker

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR began responding to the Spooner Lake entrance to Marlette Lake on the report of an injured hiker. Before SAR arrival, a Department of Wildlife Deputy located the subject and transported her to the staging area.
