Recent Search – 1/11/2014

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and SVU responded to the staging area of Matterhorn and Argonaught to search for a stranded subject and her 4 1/2 year old child that were stuck in an area on Hungry Mountain, east of Antelope Valley.  Although provided with accurate phone coordinates from dispatch, darkness made the task of finding the correct road to her location a bit of a challenge.  After approximately 30 minutes, teams were able to locate her vehicle, which was then extricated from its stuck location.  She was escorted safely back to staging.

Recent Search – 1/5/2014

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR returned to the Minden/Gardnerville area to continue searching for a missing woodcutter that was last seen on 12/30/2013.  After searching for most of the day, new information that was gathered by investigators suggested that the subject was likely not in the area.  The search was suspended.

Recent Searches – 1/4/2014

SAR Staff, Air Squadron, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR were requested by Douglas County to assist in a search for a missing woodcutter who was last seen on 12/30.  Teams were tasked with searching a large area of the Pinenut Mountains, south and east of the Minden/Gardnerville area.  Nothing was located.

Dive Recovery – 1/1/2014

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and WCSAR began responding to a canal near Fernley where a submerged vehicle had been located with unknown occupants.  As teams were arriving in the area, the occupant of the vehicle was located and did not need any medical attention.
