Recent Searches – 7/14/13

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to Tahoe Meadows to search for two lost subjects above upper Price Lake.  ATV’s and side x sides transported foot teams to the area.  The subjects were quickly located and brought back to the foot team deployment location.  The subjects and foot teams were then transported back to staging.

Recent Searches – 7/13/13

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR traveled to the Logarmasino Canyon area to continue a search for a subject that went missing approximately 14 months ago.  Teams had searched part of the area in March and were requested by Storey County to continue their effort.  Search segments were assigned, and foot teams as well as ATV teams covered the highest probability areas.  The subject was not located.

Recent Searches – 7/7/13

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Patrick area to search for an ATV in distress.  As more information came in, it was not an ATV, but a RV.  They stated that they were looking at the race track in the Mustang area.  Deputies and RAVEN searched the area with nothing being located.  SAR teams were released since information was sketchy at best.

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and WCSAR were requested to assist RFD to locate and rescue a stranded rafter on the Truckee River in the Verdi area.  The subject was stuck in some rocks and needed assistance.  It was then found out that she was left behind by another subject that was intoxicated.  A search for the second subject located where he exited the river as confirmed by witnesses.  The search was suspended at that point.

Recent Searches – 7/5/13

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, SVU, and WCSAR responded to the Marlette area to search for five adults and one juvenile that were lost.  Cell phone pings put the subjects at the southeast corner of Marlette.  Teams accessed the area and located the subjects at that location.  The subjects were given water and some warm clothing and transported to staging at Spooner Lake.  The subject’s bikes were also transported out of the area.

SAR Staff, Hasty Team, and WCSAR responded to the summit of Mt. Rose to assist NLTFPD in locating and transporting an injured hiker to the trailhead.
