SAR Staff, Hasty Team, RAVEN, SVU, and WCSAR were requested to search for a missing subject whose vehicle was located in a dry creek bed approximately 11 miles northeast of Nixon in Coyote Canyon.  The subject had been reported missing from Amador County on April 21st.  An off-roader had come across the vehicle on Saturday, May 3rd.  He took pictures and recorded the GPS location, did some research on the vehicle, discovered it belonged to the missing subject, and notified Amador County on Monday, May 5th.  For four days, teams searched over 80 square miles of territory using foot searchers, 4×4’s, a helicopter, ATV’s, horses, and a dog team.  Other than the vehicle, nothing was located.  Besides Washoe County SAR teams, assistance was requested from Carson SAR, Carson Horse Posse, Churchill County SAR, Douglas SAR, Humboldt County SAR, Lyon County SAR, Pershing County SAR, Pyramid Lake SAR, and Pyramid Lake Police.  A huge thank you goes to these outside agencies – your resources were greatly appreciated!
